Concrete Fence Planning

Constructing a precast concrete fence on your property or project is a major decision and there are several steps that must be taken before the final end product is in place and you can stand back and admire the beautiful addition to your property. One of the most important decisions is determining the installation placement of your precast concrete fence. While you may have a general idea of where you want your final placement, there can be a number of factors that help make the final decision. This is where Hilltop Concrete has you covered! We will work with you every step of the way, including during the planning stage, so we can properly prepare for your installation. Here are some tips for determining where you should install your concrete fence.

Your property line may seem like the apparent placement for your precast concrete fence, but this is not always the most beneficial placement. For example, if your property is large, following the property line may not be financially feasible or beneficial for the intended purposes of your concrete fence. You should consider and use the intended purpose of your precast concrete fence to help determine whether maximizing or minimizing the enclosed area is best for your needs. If the intended purpose is to clearly define your property line or keep anyone from easily accessing any part of your property, then installing it on your property line is your most logical placement. If you decide to place your fence along your property lines, obviously, your fence cannot extend beyond your legal limits. If you have an existing fence system in place, this can be a great indication of where your property line is, however, if you haven’t had a recent survey completed, you should have one scheduled. Not only will this provide a clear and updated boundary but can also help avoid future disputes with neighbors and ensure that your property is adequately framed.

Perhaps you want to utilize your precast concrete fence to provide privacy around a backyard area, contain children or pets, or prevent access to certain parts of your property. In one of these cases, choosing a limited location on your property may be a better option. If utilizing your precast concrete fence for privacy around a home or building, taking things like gates and access points into consideration will help determine the final placement of your precast concrete fence. If enclosing an area around a home or building, other factors that should be considered include underground utility placement and access for utilities, access for trash receptacles or air conditioning units, access for large trailers or vehicles, balancing the fence on both sides of the home or building, lining up with neighboring properties or fencing, or leaving room for future development on the property. Configuring the fence to best suit your needs is a Hilltop Concrete specialty and our team is dedicated to helping you make the decisions that will best suit all of your needs.
